How To Add Google Friend Connect To Your WordPress Blog

Social media includes sharing with others your commuity and connecting people.  Google friend connect plugin allows you to do so.

Adding Google Friend Connect to your WordPress blog is fairly. This particular google tool provides a great way to add another dimension of “community” to your blog or website. As you can see, I added it to my sidebar as a WordPress Widget. The best feature of this tool is that those people that frequent your blog or website can meet each other and discover other websites or blogs of like minded people right from your community and drive traffic to their sites.

How To Add Friend Connect To Your WordPress Blog

Here are the steps to add Friend Connect to your WordPress Blog.

1. Log into Friend Connect at http://www.google.com/friendconnect/home/ with your google email address or your google account

2. Accept the terms and conditions but clicking on I agree to the friend connect developer terms of Service

3. Fill out the information requested and click continue

4. You will see the image below saying Congratulations, you’ve added http://yourdomain.com.Now, click on Add the members gagdet

5. You are now able to change your gadget size, colors, as you like.

6. Now click on get HTML Code

7. Go to WordPress Admin Control Panel – Appearence – Widgets -

8. Create a Text Widget, give it a title, and insert the HTML code into the the Widget.

You are done! Congratulations, now your community can join site as members. They can see other members on your site and meet them and visit them as well.
